Huseyin Kurtulmus

Prof. Dr. Kurtulmus graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1998.
Between 1999 and 2004, he completed his PhD at Ege University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Prosthodontics with a dissertation entitled “Prosthodontic Applications in the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea”. This study represents the first scientific doctoral thesis in Turkiye conducted by a dentist in the field of dental sleep medicine.

In 2014, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Prosthodontics, and in 2020 he was appointed as Professor.

Between July 2018 and March 2020, he served as a faculty member at Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthodontics.

Prof. Dr. Kurtulmus focuses his academic and clinical work on dental sleep medicine, obstructive sleep apnea and snoring therapies, sleep bruxism, temporomandibular disorders, myofascial pain syndromes, and occlusal disorders.

He is recognized as one of the first prosthodontists and academicians in Türkiye to actively integrate clinical dental practice with sleep and airway disorders. He is a founding and permanent member of the Sleep Apnea Group (UAG), an İzmir-based professional council established to advance clinical and educational activities in this field.

Prof. Dr. Kurtulmus has delivered numerous lectures, seminars, and continuing education courses at national and international congresses. He currently provides professional training programs under the title “Sleep and Respiratory Prosthodontics” at Istanbul Dental Academy, focusing on the role of dentists in diagnosis, treatment, and interdisciplinary management of sleep-related breathing disorders.
