Course Overview
This 1-day intensive hands-on course focuses on immediate provisional loading and custom healing abutment techniques following dental implant placement, particularly in the esthetic zone.
As implant treatment has become increasingly widespread, patient expectations have also increased. In particular, patients undergoing implant surgery in the esthetic zone often expect their teeth to be restored as soon as possible. When appropriate case selection and clinical protocols are followed, immediate provisional loading after implant placement can provide predictable clinical outcomes.
Beyond addressing the patient's immediate esthetic concerns, immediate loading can also contribute to the development and shaping of the peri-implant soft tissues for the definitive restoration. Proper execution is critical for achieving an ideal outcome, while inappropriate techniques may lead to difficult-to-correct or irreversible esthetic complications.
The first part of the course will focus on prosthetic principles in anterior and posterior regions, emergence profile, and the concept of esthetic biological contour through clinical case discussions. In the afternoon, participants will perform immediate loading and custom healing abutment procedures on models through intensive hands-on training.
This course is intended for clinicians with previous experience in implant-supported prosthodontics. Participation is not recommended for clinicians without prior experience in implant-supported prosthetic treatment.
Theoretical Training
Fundamental principles of immediate provisional loading following implant placement
Prosthetic approaches in anterior and posterior regions
Prosthetic evaluation and case selection for immediate loading
Esthetic and functional criteria for immediate loading
Prosthetically driven peri-implant soft tissue shaping
Emergence profile and its clinical significance
Principles of shaping the emergence profile of the restoration
Esthetic biological contour and evaluation of different contour zones
The role of custom healing abutments in peri-implant soft tissue shaping
Relationship between provisional restorations and peri-implant soft tissue
Common clinical errors during immediate loading

Hands-on Training
During the afternoon hands-on session, participants will perform immediate loading and custom healing abutment procedures on models.
The hands-on session will include:
Evaluation of prosthetic components for immediate loading
Immediate loading procedure on a model
Fabrication and shaping of an implant-supported provisional restoration
Controlled development of the emergence profile
Shaping of the esthetic biological contour
Fabrication of a custom healing abutment on a model
Practical application of soft tissue shaping principles using a custom healing abutment
All procedures will be performed under direct instructor supervision, with individual feedback provided throughout the hands-on session.
